About this certification
Putting plates in the rack is entry-level work. The advanced practitioner knows why the glasses come out cloudy, why the pod didn't dissolve, and why the machine has started to smell faintly of last Tuesday. Most dishwasher problems aren't loading problems at all. They're prep, chemistry, and maintenance problems that look like loading problems.
This program picks up where basic loading leaves off. It covers the case against pre-rinsing, placement of awkward items, detergent and rinse aid, cycle selection, filter cleaning, and a working list of things that should never go in. Graduates will be able to diagnose a cloudy glass with a cup of vinegar and defend their cycle choice to anyone in the household.
What you'll learn
- Why you should scrape instead of pre-rinse, and how to prep a load properly
- Placing tall, awkward, and fragile items without blocking the spray arms
- Detergent, rinse aid, hard water, and the difference between film and etching
- Choosing cycles, drying options, and the correct unloading order
- Cleaning the filter and spray arms, and what never belongs in a dishwasher
